Queen Mary’s Gardens in The Regent’s Park is a very special place, famed worldwide for it’s rose collections // To celebrate its 75th anniversary chacha was commissioned to design a commemorative brochure // Fine bible paper was french folded to exploit it’s translucent qualities, the result as delicate as petals. The booklet was hand stitched with red thread and protected by a screen printed outer slip-case.

Grow Apprenticeship Programme
GROW is the Royal Parks apprenticeship scheme to recruit its future gardeners // The project was printed in a combination of offset litho and silk screen on kraft paper to achieve a ‘seed packet’ aesthetic // The poster was designed to have flexibility of use on notice boards where space could be an issue.

Creating an entire brand around an existing logotype is a difficult task. We opted for an op-art theme – resurrecting the look of the swinging sixties in London in a fresh and fun way // The sales talk: since chacha took on the William Morris LONDON brand the eyewear company turnover has tripled.

Annual Report: My Park Is...
The wide variety of park users and activities was what TRP was keen to highlight with this year’s annual report // Chacha conceived the title ‘My park is’, allowing each of the editorial spreads to explore a different aspect of the eight parks from various visitors’ points of view // This really highlighted the breadth and flexibility of the parks as a hub for the surrounding communities and visitors alike.

Crime Awareness Campaign
After an in-depth analysis of crime figures and locations within parks in central London, our brief was to communicate key messages asking park users to take reasonable precautions against crime // Communications were placed in car parks, toilets and concessions; the message and visibility level varying according to the situation // It was necessary to strike the right balance between warning people of potential risks whilst not scaring them away // According to the Met, crime in the parks has since dropped, while park usage remains as high ever.

FUSE arts event
Chacha were commissioned to produce branding, marketing collateral, web site and signage for The Royal Parks’ FUSE event // Aimed at young people between the ages of 13-19, FUSE introduced and encouraged engagement in a multitude of creative and artistic platforms // Workshops with a teenage focus group ensured our work had engagement with the target audience. Strong colours, bold typography and illustration were the key elements striking a chord with the young people // Feedback from participants was unequivocally positive and almost certainly ensures a repeat festival next year.
