ORUK

Identity

Orthopaedics is fundamentally about the musculoskeletal system, particularly joints and movement, whilst this not-for-profit medical foundation is solely concerned with the growth of scientific knowledge in the field. The forms within the newly created logo aim to encompass both concepts -- an interconnected and articulated joint system, and a structure that suggests accumulative growth // Further to our design expertise, chacha also brought on board an experienced brand strategist and copywriter, to help refine the foundation's message // Initial production for the project included a website, exhibition display and various literature items.

Starchild Pictures

Identity

Starchild is a Soho-based film production company that specialises in 'genre' films. Their love of Sci-Fi gave birth to the name, and the drama and intrigue of the big screen was the inspiration for the visual identity // The stark yet soft letterforms created with projected light speak of the scale and spectacle of the cinematic experience //  Litho printed A2 sheets were printed as posters and then cut down to form a variety of letterheads and comp slips; accentuating the delicate detail of each of the large letters.

RSPB

Wayfinding Signage

A wayfinding system for the RSPB reserve at Rainham Marshes // Strength, clarity and brand presence where of the utmost importance, whilst the design aesthetic was to complement the unique and striking building at the entrance to the reserve // Graphic elements were screen printed onto hot-dipped galvanised steel sheets, creating permanent signs that sit wonderfully with the raw materials and colours of the surrounding environment.

RSPB

Visitor Centre

A piece of interpretation signage to tell the story behind the award-winning centre at RSPB Rainham Marshes // From naturally heated water to sheep's wool insulation and solar panel roofing, this is a truly modern sustainable building // It was our job to express this in a positive and engaging way, playing on the unique character of the architecture (an unusual looking structure clad in multi-coloured wooden panels salvaged from shipping containers) and yet stay comfortably within the RSPB brand guidelines // The result is a playful graphic story printed on timber and framed in galvanised steel, mounted on the exterior of the building itself.

The Royal Parks

Annual Report: My Park Is...

The wide variety of park users and activities was what TRP was keen to highlight with this year’s annual report // Chacha conceived the title ‘My park is’, allowing each of the editorial spreads to explore a different aspect of the eight parks from various visitors’ points of view // This really highlighted the breadth and flexibility of the parks as a hub for the surrounding communities and visitors alike.

Queen Mary’s Gardens

Commemorative Brochure

Queen Mary’s Gardens in The Regent’s Park is a very special place, famed worldwide for it’s rose collections // To celebrate its 75th anniversary chacha was commissioned to design a commemorative brochure // Fine bible paper was french folded to exploit it’s translucent qualities, the result as delicate as petals. The booklet was hand stitched with red thread and protected by a screen printed outer slip-case.
